A native Californian, Ryan was raised in farming and ranching country in the central part of the state by a professional rodeo cowboy father and collegiate rodeo champion mother who turned to golf following successful careers.

Ryan was involved in the junior ranks of baseball and football -- having been chosen to the All-Star team for football - before turning his full attention to golf.

Ryan participated in a limited number of junior golf events, preferring to play with adults in country clubs throughout California. He has competed in:

• AJGA Amundi Evian Senior Showcase in December, 2021 where he finished 10th out of 77 and shot 75 and 67;
• U.S. Open Qualifying event in May of 2021, where he finished 6th out of 76 and shot 72;
• JGANC Bumgardener Memorial in July, 2020 where he finished 1st out of 25 and shot 78 and 73

He is no stranger to hard work, having worked for a golf cart repair shop and worked on family and friend's ranches throughout high school. He has volunteered throughout his youth in the Tough Enough Breast Cancer campaign and is currently a senior in High School at the Branson Academy.

Hobbies include competitive team roping.
